Y should the impacted tooth must broke into small pieces to remove it ..?? i mean wisdom tooth ..?
An impacted tooth is jammed inside bone or up against the tooth in front of it, and because it's jammed, there is no room to maneuver the tooth out in one piece.

Cutting an impacted tooth into pieces creates room for the oral surgeon to work his elevator into where the tooth roots meet the bone. The elevator acts like a wedge (kind of like how you would force a crowbar tip between two planks of wood to loosen them up), allowing the surgeon to wiggle the root to loosen it up. Once the root is loosened, it can be pried out with the elevator or pulled out with forceps.

Hope this helps.
Reply:Some yank- some cut it out and some rock it. Better to have it cut out- then your jaw doesn't get mis aligned. Oh happy day.
Reply:when i got my two bottom wisdom teeth pulled, my dentist broke my teeth into pieces. they were sideways and were impacting my other teeth. he broke it into small pieces by using some sort of drill tool. then he used the other tool to take it out. there was a lot of pressure on my tooth.

i felt like my jaw was going to break or something. in the end, he got both wisdom teeth out without anything left inside and my gums healed just fine, no dry socket whatsoever.
