Got all 4 wisdom teeth out, plus bone. And my breath wreaks! Help?

Okay, so on wednesday I got all four of my wisdom teeth out. They were impacted, and pushing my teeth toward the middle, so they had to be removed. The procedure went fine, i was prescribed percocet, and i've basically been sleeping and eating next to nothing the past few days. (you REALLY don't want food after getting all four . . ) But my mom keeps complaining about my breath. I don't blame her - it smells like vomit due to dried blood and no way of suitably brushing my teeth. I just don't know what to do. Can't I rinse it with some homeopathic thing? Not to mention my face is lopsided right now . . i figured i'd get chipmunk face, but not on only one side! sigh. Any thoughts or suggestions, guys?

so wow, I just got mine out on tuesday XD

My mouth tastes so nasty too. But on my instruction sheet it said that the day after I was able to rinse with warm salt water (1/4 tsp salt and 8ounces water, i think)

it makes my mouth feel a lot better, and I think it kills germs or something. You probably should not use listerine b/c it's probably too harsh right now.

They also said I could brush the day of surgery, but I don't know about you. Maybe you should get a very soft toothbrush or a toddler toothbrush or something.

maybe you should just suck on some gum. You know, not chew it just suck on it. lol

With percocet I also got amoxicillin as an antibiotic and I got Decadron as an anti-swelling stuff, didn't you get stuff like that? my family said my swelling is pretty OK, but I don't know, I can't tell.

I also used frozen peas for the first day and 1/2 (on my sheet it said don't use past 36 hrs) and they made it feel good. Just put a bag on each side of your face (My mom devised a way for me to hold them on my face with my little sister's bra... that was interesting, but it worked, LOL)

Also, don't use a straw, it's basically a death sentence, or something, lol.
Reply:rinse and gargle a few times a day with peroxide. its on the bottle.
Reply:Just get some nice scented anti-bacterial mouth wash. That's what I used, but very, very gently! Mainly so I didn't disturb the blood clots where the teeth used to be :-)
Reply:they got this mouthwash at walmart called biotine use that and the toothpaste too...by the way if you gargle DONT SWALLOW peroxide your mouth will heal faster
Reply:bad breath is normal after tooth extraction, mine is only one but it has the same effect, wait for it to heal said the dentist and the bad breath will go away...
Reply:use the rinse, but dont worry about it. Pop more pills and forget about it.lol that is just like everyone who has it done. This will probably be my gf tomorrow as she is getting it done.lol. Things like this is why you have people who will care for you when your in this state.
Reply:It will pass, the stitches as well as the scabs tend to hold a lot of bacteria around them so make sure you rinse. Your surgeon should have prescribed you an antibacterial mouthrinse that will help to kill off any bacteria without being too harsh, just make sure not to swish. Also my surgeon told me to use a cotton swab and lightly rub toothpaste onto the areas to clean them.
Reply:I recently had all four of my wisdom teeth taken, and I lightly swished my mouth out with listerine mixed with water. Be careful not to unclog your blood clot as this will cause a dry socket. Take care!
Reply:i got all four out too, i thinks its the crap they pack the empty sockets with, it really smells foul and lasts months until the holes seal up, ask your dentist for a solution, since he caused the problem. untill then use a sock puppet to communicate with people, it might end up being your new best friend, j/k..
Reply:I think they tell you not to gargle or drink through a straw? i know when i got mine out they gave me a little beak like gun thing to shoot saline water into the holes where the teeth used to be. give it a couple days it gets better
