After wisdom tooth extraction, where does the nerve go?

I recently had all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth removed. Luckily, there was and has been minimal pain (especially with the hydrocodone). Even without medication, the pain is not severe. Where do the nerves go that were a part of those teeth? Were the severed and removed as well or were they tucked away somewhere?

The nerve is inside of the tooth. There are nerves that are in your jaw, but those don't go anywhere. Hope this helps.
Reply:Usually no nerve is severed. There are times when during the extraction the nerve gets damaged and this can result in your lip and tongue being permanently numbed, but this doesn't happen too often. Report It

Reply:It goes on vacation. where would you go?
