I have a gum infection coz my wisdom tooth is impacted. Can gum infection be treated without tooth extraction?

The infection could be treated with antibiotics, but if the tooth is still there, it will likely keep coming back. If you're wisdom tooth is impacted, it needs to be pulled anyway. It will only cause more problems later if you don't see a dentist and let them pull it.

It can, but odds are the infection will just come back. Infections can become very serious if left untreated.

Having your wisdom teeth extracted isn't so bad. In a lot of cases, they will put you to sleep while they do it.
Reply:yes with an anitbiotic. Chances are that if you don't get it taken out you will have another reoccurance
Reply:Yes it can i have a friend that had all four extracted.
Reply:you may have a prescription antibiotic or an rx strength mouth wash, but this is only temporary, the wisdom tooth needds to come out. just break down and do it before you make yourself sick.
