Holes/Caves where Wisdom teeth used to be...HELP!!?

I had my Wisdom teeth removed 6 days ago, and have followed what the Orthodontist has told me to do (even though it was relayed to my mom and was vague, but I read up what to do/expect)

Anyways, the stitching on both of my bottom teeth has now dissolved or come off, and when I look in the mirror I can see holes on both sides (probably more like caves since both were completely impacted). Is this normal to have or did the stitching loosen too early? There isn't really that much pain left and it is getting a bit better every day so I don't suspect they're dry sockets but it's unsettling to look at and the thought of getting food in them has made me eat everything completely different. I was just curious if these holes will heal over soon/at all or what will happen at this point? HELP! lol

This is normal. It will take about 10 days for you to see or feel a difference. It will take a few weeks for them to heal completely. Don't worry if the stitches come off, it happens, or you might of had the absorbable kind (that way the doctor won't have to bother taking them off). It is normal for food to get stuck in the holes, just brush carefully, and hopefully he gave you a special mouthwash to use after meals. He should have gave you special instructions also on what not to eat and how to brush and take food remenants out of the alveolus (hole).
Reply:Best bet is to contact or Orthodontist and ask him or her. That's the person who knows what the inside of your mouth looks like, knows how the teeth were removed, and can better predict any problems that may occur.
Reply:They will heal over. Mine did. Keep them clean though.
Reply:This happened to me also, I believe they may not have closed up for 4-6 weeks after. Some friends of mine it only took a week or two.

Clean them regularly, and don't worry. They will close up soon.

In the meantime, stay away from popcorn. :)
Reply:The holes will heal over in a few weeks...this is normal...just chill out
Reply:This is normal. In time it will not look so gruesome. good day
Reply:As you are lol don't worry the holes heal to the level of the surrounding gums, still be careful not to sprain your ankle when putting you foot in your mouth lol! too. hassa
Reply:It can take up to 6 months for an extraction site to fully heal. As long as you're not in any pain, don't worry about it.
