Wisdom Teeth Removal!?

I need to get my wisdom teeth removed, all 4 of them, and to make matters worse, THEY ARE ALL IMPACTED! AND, they are not going to put me to sleep. I am scared to death of just walking into the dentists' office! I really don't know what I'm going to do. Is it going to hurt? I can't even look at the needles or the drill when I'm at the dentist.

Wisdom Teeth Removal!?
Unfortunately it's going to bleed a bit, and your entire face will swell up for a couple days.

It's extremely uncomfortable, and difficult to eat (Drinking Yoghurt is a great way to eat). But don't worry when the pull them out, it'll feel strange but won't hurt.

It hurts once the anesthetic has worn off.

Good luck!
Reply:Yes, it's going to hurt BUT not as much as you think. It will hurt more after if you dont keep yourself on painkillers. Its the kind of thing where theyre pretty much done before you know it. You will have anethesia, hopefully not stitches, thats what bugged me the most .The stiches come out in 2 days they were just annoying . I wish you luck, and remember its always best to get your wisdom teeth out they're nothing but trouble.
Reply:I did ok when they cut mine out, just follow their advice on avoiding dry socket..those suck!
Reply:general anathesia is not used for removal of impacted tooth.Doctors require co-operation of the patient. The surgical procedure is very safe. It may take from 20 to 30 minutes.

If you are that much anxious you can ask doctor to give you premedication.
Reply:i had one out the other month

i was terrified!

but i sat in the chair.. they gave me 4 needles which didn't hurt at all!

your mouth is completely numb

it won't hurt

the only part that hurts is when they actually pull out your tooth..

and that doesn't hurt as much as you expect it to.

honest.
Reply:I had all 4 of mine taken out years ago and they were impacted too. It went very smoothly and I didn't feel a thing until the anesthesia wore off, but the painkillers did eventually help. You should be feeling back to normal within 3-4 days.

I agree with the post above to do what they tell you so as not to get a dry socket...those are very painful!
Reply:Just use the nitrous oxcide %26amp; you won't give a hoot. Gonna be sore afterwards!! Doc W
