Can I have my wisdom teeth removed while I'm pregnancy?

I'm 6 weeks from my due date but my wisdom tooth is either coming in or is impacted and needs to be taken out. I'm deathly afraid of dentists and would require to be knocked out completely. Can I have that kind of anethesia during pregnancy?

Can I have my wisdom teeth removed while I'm pregnancy?
i was 7 months pregnant when i had to have a tooth cut out of my gums. they cant knock you out but dont worry im afraid of the denist too and was almost too afraid to go through with it. but in the end im glad i went through with it cause i didnt need any addittional pain added to what i was already going through! good luck!!
Reply:Good luck! Thumbs up! Report It

Reply:Unfortunately, there probably is not a Dentist in his right mind that will perform such a precedure while you are pregnant.
Reply:yes if they don't use the sleeping gas ask them to give u the naming injection on your gums OK
Reply:I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed two-weeks prior to giving birth to my son. The dentist worked with OBGYN to determine how it needed to be done and, in the end, I was not allowed to have anesthesia...not even a local. No novacaine (spell check). It was awful, awful, awful but there was no choice. I have a high tolerance for pain which helped but not that much!
Reply:the only thing they can do for you is local anethesia , the needles

hurt like hell 3 in each side of the gums. It took 3 seconds to pull out for each wisdom tooth. And yes i was pregnant

i was reading the other ladys comment about how her gyno was working with the dentist what a made up story
Reply:no you cant. you will have to wait until the baby is born because for one you will have to get x-rays done which is a no-no during pregnancy, two, its just not safe to be put under while pregnant, what if the baby decided he/she wanted to come out while you were being operated on? and three, you will need some strong pain medicine for afterwards which is also not safe for the baby. but if i were you i would try to schedule an appointment now, for after the baby is born, make it like 2 weeks after your due date, so that way when you can have the surgery you dont have to wait for an appointment any longer.
Reply:I don't think any dentist would remove your wisdom tooth, you may just have to wait until after your baby is born. Sorry. Talk to your doctor and they may tell you a solution that will be safe for the baby!

I have my wisdom teeth trying to cut through now, it is actually quite funny on this end because my daughter is teething too. Both mommy and baby are teething. :-)
