Eating after wisdom teeth removal?

I had all four wisdom teeth removed yesterday morning. The pain is very dull, but I do have stitches as all four were impacted. I've been good and done exactly as instructed, and there is minimal swelling and risk of infection due to being given penicillin and Medrol. I'm just curious, I'm eating sushi and biting it with my front teeth and swallowing - it's cold; is this okay? Also, can I drink out of a bottle (similar in shape to a beer bottle, not beer though) without worrying about a dry socket? I've heard they are excruciatingly painful.

Thanks!

As long as you are not sucking on the bottle, that sounds as though it'll be fine. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about the sushi. Six hours after I had my three impacted teeth removed, I was at McDonald's eating a burger. It hurt, but I was hungry. I haven't had any ill-effects, so I don't think sushi is all that bad.
Reply:try a straw it can get to back of throat easier =soft foods is best for a few days
Reply:I had the exact same surgery I ate and drank as I wanted. Just remember to Rinse with warm salt water to remove any rice that may get in the stitches. Dont spit too hard you can loosen the clot. Also cold is good as long as you can handle it. Cold helps makes your blood vessles constrict so you wont have to worry about bleeding alot.
Reply:You should be fine. Try not to drink too much out of a straw, and keep eating soft foods that you don't have to chew much. Yogurt, ice cream, pudding, soup, jello... Make sure to rinse your mouth out a lot, too, so that you can get all of the blood and food particles out.
Reply:You're lucky you can eat sushi! My cheeks and mouth were so swollen that I couldn't open my mouth that wide. I ate lots of soup and mashed potatoes. I also ate smooties with a spoon. Make sure not to suck on anything, just put/pour food into your mouth and you won't have to worry.
Reply:i think you will be fine with that I believe after 6 to 12 hours you can basically eat anything. if you really want to know call the doctor there is no dumb questions when you really want to know something.

For better taste, you can also cook it with some chopped meat, very soft meat; add little soy sauce, sesame oil, pepper powder, or salt. If you would like it sweet, add a tablespoon of concentrated milk to the mixture.

You can drink from a bottle but I was told not to drink from a straw for a few weeks, Good luck I hope you feel better!
