How long should I wait after delivery, to get my wisdom teeth cut out?

I am on Medicaid for being pregnant and am not certain how long after the baby I have untill they drop me, I think it's 2 or 3 months. Should I get my wisdom teeth cut out pretty much right away to get all the healing over with at once, or wait?? They are severly impacted and have given me problems for a year now...

How long you have depends on what state you are in. Here it is only 6 weeks to get through the 6 week checkup. Even WHILE pregnant though most local anistethetics are safe.
Reply:You need to wait until your 6 week post-baby check up with your OB/gyn. Once the OB gives you the Go Ahead to have your dental work done, then do it. I had to wait until my 6 weeks check up was normal before I could even get my teeth cleaned. You don't want a brand new baby and hurry to have oral surgery.

I've had babies and I had all four of my wisdom teeth cut out at once. Let me tell you, you're going to need pain killers and lots of rest after the wisdom teeth removal, so be sure you line up a babysitter or have a friend/family member help you with the baby, allow you to take a nap. I don't envy you at all, sugar.

I would ask your dentist how long after you give birth must you wait to have oral surgery. They need to know you are having a baby - it might matter as to how they proceed with pain killers or antibiotics. I would also ask the very same question of your OB/gyn.
Reply:Well I am from Canada, but my DR. told me that getting my wisdom teeth removed while I was pregnant would be fine. Even with the anaesthesia my DR. told me the baby would be OK.
