I had my 2 bottom wisdom teeth removed on Friday, they we both impacted. My left side seems to healing just fine, but the right side feels and looks like my cheek is cut wide open. There are flaps of skin hanging there. It looks like they cut a star into the side of my cheek. I know it sounds weird, but thats what it looks and feels like. And to top it all of the meds thay gave me are not helping with the pain at all. I cant sleep, eat or do much of anything. My mouth is constanly throbbing. Please help!!!!
Bottom Wisdom teeth removal and I think I have an infection?
Here's an infection test.
Eat yogurt or frozen yogurt.
Has natural antibiotics in it.
If you eat it, and you feel better, then you have infection in there to be treated with antibiotics.
You can eat as much as it takes to calm things down, so don't be scared of that.
Yoplait is a good brand for this.
Steak N Shake Fruit %26amp; Frozen Yogurt shake great - get a large.
Hope it helps.
If you have infection, call the dentist's office.
The answering service will raise the dentist or an oncall.
They may prescribe formal antibiotics until the dentist can see you, or could even see you today.
Good Luck.
Reply:i believe you are given antibiotics as a precaution after surgery? So shouldn't you already be on them? Also- did your stitches fall out? Either way check with the doc. something is not right.
Reply:You need to call the dentist or surgeon who removed the teeth and address your question to him/her, or their office personnel. This is the only true way to ensure you are getting proper advice. I realize it is Sunday but if you call the office and leave a message, or wait until tomorrow, someone should get back to you. Doctors are available to you even after your treatment has been performed, do not be afraid to call.
Hope this helps.
