I have had the x-rays done and I only have 3. I wouldn't really mind getting them out I just don't have dental insurence. One of them is already partially grown in and I can tell one other is coming in so if my teeth aren't impacted and they aren't hurting anything do I really need to get them out?
Do you really need to get your wisdom teeth out?
No, it's not necessary.
They grow for a reason.
BUT REMOVING THEM IS ALL THE RAGE!
Reply:I was told to have mine pulled before they even came in. They are now fully in and I have yet to have a problem. I had enough room for them, didn't mess with my other teeth. They never hurt... except when they came in.... ouch! I'm sure someday some other doctore will want to pull them for some reason... and if it's not a good one, I want to keep them. I really hope they aren't bad for you. I'm going to check back on this question! :)
Reply:Only if they begin to hurt [crowd the other teeth] will you need to take them out. I would suggest maybe taking one out at a time if you can afford it. It would suck if all three began to hurt and you had to get all three removed. That would be expensive and hurt badly.
Reply:They usually only have you get your wisdom teeth out if they are impacted or infected or there is lack of room in your jaw. Mine were extremely impacted. It really goes on a case to case bases.
Reply:No, not really. I'd put this in the same category as tonsils were many years back - simply a popular procedure that had no real medical basis. It depends on your level of pain tolerance; they're going to hurt a bit as they grow in but in most cases that will go away eventually.
Reply:If they don't bother you, there's no need to spend the money to have them removed. But, sometimes they don't hurt until you have them for a while. If they start to hurt, even a little, get them removed right away!. I waited until mine were impacted and infected, and it was a nightmare, although I do still have one in place after 20 years that still does not bother me.
Reply:To give the real crooks more money.........dentists.
Reply:If they are not impacted and there not infected. Then no you do not they prefer you to though because most people don't get the back teeth as much as they do the rest.. Two of my wisdom teeth already came in.. But one of them is starting to become impacted so you really can't tell if your wisdom teeth start to impact could be later on after they come in.. My best bet would to get them pulled. But if nothings wrong then just make sure you brush them really well.
Reply:not really. if they dont cause you any pain or they arent affecting your smile dont pull them out. aslong they dont bother you itd ok.
Reply:It all depends. They said mine didn't need to be pulled. And two years later they're gone. Mine were removed because I didn't have the space and I kept biting my cheek horribly. It was so painful! I'm glad they're gone.
