Suppose to be getting my wisdom teeth removed... how safe or dangerous is it to a fetus??

So Im suppose to be getting my wisdom teeth (all 4 of them) removed on Tuesday because they are impacted and trying to come in through my back teeth since I have no room for them to grow in normally and Im in a ton of pain. It is okay to go through with the procedure even though Im 4-5 weeks pregnant??

Please no sarcastic answers. Ive been pregnant before and never had to go through any dental work until now.

Someone please help.

You really should talk to you OB/GYN doctor and dentist about your concerns. Does the dentist know you are pregnant and does your OB/GYN know you are going for this procedure? I do know that when my husband went for his wisdom teeth to be extracted he was sedated intravenously, so he was totally asleep, so not sure if that can be done while you are pregnant, he was also prescribed heavy duty pain medication that you can't have while pregnant, and believe me you will need the pain medicine, its very painful after wards, and antibiotics. Also the first trimester is the most critical time in the pregnancy so all this stressful stuff doesn't seem like it would be good for your baby at all. My doctor doesn't even want me to visit the dentist for a cleaning until my second trimester, so it seems an operation, which is what it would be wouldn't be a good idea. It would be best if you talked to both the dentist and your doctor before you do anything so you can get all the facts first.
Reply:It wont be dangerious at all. Dental is one of the most safest surgerys done while pregnent.

Hope this helped and good luck with those teeth
Reply:It shouldn't be dangerous at all if you are just having a local anesthetic.

I'd say yes, it's ok, talk to your dentist to be certain though, find out what compound they will inject and investigate it first.
Reply:my hubby got his wisdoms out, and he was knocked out all day for it! its really painful i hear, and u will look like a cabbage patch doll for a day lol. but as long as the dentist knows you are preggers, then i would think the risk is minimal.
