or general ... is it complecated
Does mesio angularly impacted wisdom lower tooth can be done under local anes ..??
well
the most common impacted tooth is mesio angular third molar(wisdom tooth) of lower jaw.
the radiograph(x-ray) is necessary to evaluate whether it is relatively easy to remove or a bit complicated.
it is a routine practice to extract such teeth under local aneshetics with minimum trauma but sometimes if unavoidable little bit of bone is drilled and is extracted.
i would advice you to undergo extraction under local anesthetics only.
general anesthesia is advised only when gagging is the major problem or the patient is uncooperative like small children or mentally challenged patient, or some other complications which can't be managed under local anesthesia.
mind it its very much a routine job and just stop worrying and go ahead.
Reply:get it done under general, been in your shoes! AND would NOT go through THAT again!!! mine was cut. chopped, chiseled, and drilled out!!!
Reply:I think that would depend on how you feel about pain. See an oral surgeon.
Reply:Local is usually fine.
